How the study works

This study is evaluating an advanced wound matrix added to standard wound care for diabetic foot ulcers.

  1. Screening visit

The study team reviews your health history and your wound to confirm whether you qualify.

  2. Group assignment

Participants are randomly assigned to standard wound care alone, or standard wound care plus the wound matrix.

  3. Weekly visits

Your wound is checked and measured at each weekly study visit.

  4. Possible switch

Participants who start with standard care alone may later have the option to receive the wound matrix.

Do you qualify?

  • Adults 18 years or older
  • Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
  • A foot ulcer present for at least 4 weeks
  • Able to attend weekly visits in Mandarin or Jacksonville Beach

Other requirements apply. Final eligibility is determined by the study team at a screening visit.
